San Francisco International Airport International Terminal Building (ITB) – Phases 1 & 2 San Francisco, California Streamline Drywall partnered with Nevell Group Inc. and McCarthy Building Companies as a Micro Local Business Enterprise (LBE) subcontractor on the International Terminal Building (ITB) Phases 1 and 2 project at San Francisco International Airport, a multi-phase modernization effort supporting the airport’s long-term vision for global connectivity, passenger experience, and operational efficiency. The ITB Phases 1 and 2 project is a critical component of SFO’s broader terminal modernization program, focused on accommodating current and forecasted international passenger growth while enhancing revenue-generating opportunities and optimizing airport operations. The work strengthens SFO’s role as a global gateway while reinforcing San Francisco’s commitment to resilient infrastructure, accessibility, and thoughtful terminal design. Operating within an active international terminal and U.S. Customs and Border Protection Federal Inspection Service (FIS) environment that remains operational 24 hours a day, Streamline delivered interior building systems under a Labor Service Agreement in a highly coordinated, schedule-driven setting. All work was executed in phased sequences to maintain continuous passenger processing, uphold interim life-safety requirements, and minimize disruption to travelers and airport personnel.
ITB Phases 1 and 2 significantly enhance SFO’s ability to process international travelers efficiently and comfortably. Phase 1 improvements expanded TSA security checkpoints at Boarding Areas A and G, upgraded public spaces, increased duty-free retail capacity, and modernized restrooms to meet SFO’s REACH accessibility standards. Phase 2 renovations continue the transformation by converting select baggage claim units for international arrivals, integrating Automated Passport Control technology, consolidating secondary screening areas, and repurposing existing immigration spaces to support evolving CBP and airport operations.
Streamline’s contributions supported the project’s demanding quality, safety, and coordination standards while reinforcing SFO’s ongoing investment in infrastructure that balances security, efficiency, and world-class passenger experience.
As a certified local business enterprise, Streamline is proud to have participated in a project that reflects San Francisco’s values of inclusive economic participation, long-term planning, and sustained civic investment in critical transportation infrastructure.
