The 900 Innes Avenue project is a significant part of the larger India Basin Waterfront Park initiative, which will create a 10-acre public park designed to reconnect the community with the waterfront. This project is pivotal in transforming a once neglected and industrialized shoreline into a vibrant public space, featuring new public piers, ADA-compliant walkways, recreational facilities, and restored natural habitats
The development aims to close a critical gap in the San Francisco Bay Trail, linking neighborhoods from the Embarcadero to Candlestick Point. With an emphasis on social equity and environmental justice, the project not only improves public access and environmental health but also provides job opportunities and workforce training for the local community. This once-in-a-generation project is set to be completed by 2026, leaving a lasting legacy for the Bayview-Hunters Point area
